CISA Releases Guide to Securing Remote Access Software

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) have announced a new collaboration aimed at increasing cybersecurity education and awareness among young women. The initiative, which builds on an existing partnership between the two organizations, will include a range of activities and resources designed to inspire girls to pursue careers in cybersecurity.

The partnership will focus on expanding access to cybersecurity education and training opportunities for Girl Scouts across the country. This will include the development of new cybersecurity-related badges and programs, as well as the creation of a new online cybersecurity training platform for Girl Scouts and their families.

The initiative will also involve collaboration with industry partners and cybersecurity professionals to provide mentorship, networking opportunities, and hands-on training experiences for girls interested in pursuing careers in the field.

Additionally, CISA and GSUSA will work together to increase awareness about cybersecurity risks and best practices among girls and their families, as well as to promote diversity and inclusion in the cybersecurity workforce.

Inspiring the next generation of Women in Cybersecurity

The announcement notes that the new partnership comes at a critical time, as the demand for cybersecurity professionals continues to grow and the industry struggles with a shortage of skilled workers.

By inspiring more young women to pursue careers in the field, the initiative aims to address this skills gap and help ensure that the cybersecurity workforce of the future is more diverse and representative of the communities it serves.

In a statement, CISA Director Jen Easterly highlighted the importance of investing in the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

“As we face an increasingly complex and dynamic cyber threat landscape, it is critical that we build a diverse and talented workforce that reflects the richness of our society,” she said. “Through this partnership, we hope to inspire the next generation of women leaders in cybersecurity and help ensure that our country is prepared to meet the challenges of the future.”

The article concludes by noting that the new collaboration between CISA and GSUSA builds on the success of their previous partnership, which has already helped to introduce thousands of girls to the field of cybersecurity.

With the new resources and initiatives planned as part of the expanded partnership, the organizations hope to reach even more girls and inspire them to pursue careers in this exciting and rapidly growing field.
