Cybersecurity Careers Blog certification, training, career advice, cyber jobs, cyber careers
Welcome to Cybersecurity Careers Blog “2.0” – we think you’ll like what we did with the place.

Since Cybersecurity Careers Blog launched in August 2022, we’ve grown significantly to cover a wide variety of topics. We’ve reported the latest cybersecurity news, introduced product reviews, hosted a few podcasts, and offered career advice.

In almost two full years since our launch, we’ve received massive amounts of support and traffic from cyber enthusiasts around the globe. But we’re always looking for ways to improve and streamline our approach and content.

A redesigned Cybersecurity Careers Blog

If you’ve been following our blog long enough, you may notice that we’ve completely redesigned it. Our old design was eye-appealing but heavy on Javascript and suffered performance-wise. It was excessively slow at times, clunky, and just wasn’t the user experience we wanted anymore.

When redesigning our blog, we focused on a few areas to improve:

  • Clean appearance. We dropped a lot of unnecessary graphics and styling. Simple is better and helps deliver faster load times.
  • Speed. People access our blog from a variety of internet connections and devices globally, so the site needed to be responsive and run “lean.” On average, our speeds improved 325% on desktop and 275% on mobile compared to the previous design. We’ve also better optimized the site for AMP support.
  • Removal of all Ads. To nobody’s disappointment, we removed all forms of advertising that previously existed on the blog, including Amazon and Google Ads. This delivers a cleaner design appearance, a better user experience (on desktop or mobile), and improved site responsiveness.

A new approach and focus on content

Aside from design changes, we’re pivoting to a new approach and focusing on content that will be featured on this blog. We believe this will help us better align with our core cybersecurity enthusiast audience and deliver more of what they are asking for.

  • News. Since our launch, our news section has focused on all things cybersecurity-related, including breaches, new solutions or tools in the market, or cyber industry announcements. Instead, we will now focus on training, certifications, startups, or career-related cybersecurity industry news. All major hacking, breaches, or “general” cyber news will shift to our newsletter, The Breach Report. We highly encourage you all to subscribe to our newsletter for timely cybersecurity news and job announcements.
  • Cybersecurity Career Advice. We will drastically increase our content, emphasizing cybersecurity hiring trends, advice, training, and certifications. One of our biggest readers’ requests was to help them understand how to be competitive in a tough economic market, how to get started in the field, or how to pivot from one area of cybersecurity to another. We’re going to feature content such as this and much more. Stay tuned!
  • Technology and Tools. We will increase our content on cybersecurity tools, software, and solutions, whether open-source or commercial. We’ll also create helpful guides or best practices at our readers’ request whenever possible.
  • Product Reviews. Product reviews will continue, focusing more on consumer or enterprise solutions or software and occasional tech product reviews.
  • Podcasts. Our podcasts have been on hold for a significant amount of time since the fall of 2022. We will relaunch them soon. Stay tuned!

We want to hear from you!

This blog was created for all cybersecurity enthusiasts, whether you are experienced or trying to break into the industry. We can only get better based on your feedback, so please drop us a comment on any of our social media accounts or email us.
