GenAI Training Introduction to Large Language Models LLM LLMs Google Cloud Free Generative AI training

Google is offering several new, free generative AI (or “GenAI”) training courses on its Google Cloud Skills Boost training portal. The introductory training course on LLMs is 8 hours in length and just requires a free Google or Google Cloud Skills Boost account to take. The course will cover the concepts of what LLMs are, where they can be used, prompt engineering best practices, and using Google Cloud tools to create your own GenAI apps.

Participants who complete the free course will receive an “Introduction to Large Language Models” completion badge that can be shared across social media or professional networks like LinkedIn.

The course is introductory in difficulty level and is ideal for anyone from a software engineer or business analyst trying to gain exposure to LLM fundamentals.

Hands-On Labs with Google LLMs, Prompt Tuning, and GenAI Tools

The course has four main objectives:

  • Define Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Describe LLM Use Cases
  • Explain Prompt Tuning
  • Describe Google’s Gen AI Development tools

The course is part of Google’s broader free generative AI training path entitled, “Introduction to Generative AI Learning Path”, which features over 32 hours of training material.

Additional free advanced training content is available for Google generative AI solutions and concepts such as image generation, image captioning models, and encoder-decoder architecture.
